Army Sports Lottery – Veterans Campaign

The Army Sports Lottery (ASL) has an upcoming campaign to seek the assistance and support of the Veteran Community in asking them to consider joining the Army Sport Lottery (ASL). Army Sports Lottery – A Sporting Chance. The ASL strapline is ‘fuelling Army Sport’ and the majority of its income is from the ASL where amongst other things, it funds:

Annual grants to the 45 sport unions / associations;
Overseas sports visits;
Annual grants to:

Corps HQs;
Army Adventurous Trg Gp;
Infra projects across the Defence Estate;
HQ RC for funding sport at grass roots level, via the JMCs;
The Army Sport High Performance Pathway (ASHPP).

Clearly it is soldiers who benefit from such grants and Army Sport exists to help them participate in the wide range of sports available. With an ever-increasing demand, the ALS can only move forward by increasing ASL income, hence the Veteran’s Campaign. Army Sport thus seeks Veterans help in both continuing to promote and support the ASL, plus help with the Veteran’s Campaign.

In due course the Head of ASL, will be providing a ‘flyer’ advertising ASL enrolment which will be used to reach out to the Veteran community.
